After this video plays I clicked the menu button and one of the video's (Lori by Deeyah Pashto Lullaby) led me to a site called: www.rawa.org. I went to the site and went to the page on Afghan orphanages. So many orphans! I would love to adopt some of the girls or even some of the young (teens or a little older) ladies that were given and/or sold in marriage and they escaped with no hope. There are so many of them.
I would like to have one of the old large 3 story homes with large bedrooms for about a dozen kids. A room for each of the members in the family. A large open fireplace in each room (but with central heat and air). I think a home filled with loving women and girls would be so wonderful. I'm not sure if my husband would want to live in a house full of girls. He thinks we giggle and play too much, but hey we always invite him. He's really good with kids - they all seem to love him so much, which is a good thing.
Okay, I'm rambling...I'm looking forward to where your teaching is going to lead us next.
I don't understand why our government won't help us in the adoption of the small children or even not adopting the young ladies but help bring some of them here to have a better life if they are offered a home. Of course with checking out the home and family to make sure these girls and women will not be abused or sold into sex slavery or any of the horrid stuff that just ran through my mind of what could happen to them unless there was a process to make sure of the home and family.
